Mission

The diocesan Office of Worship provides liturgical resources for pastors and parishes, aiding them to implement the vision of the Church's Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy regarding "full, conscious and active participation" in the public prayer of the Church.

The Office of Worship accomplishes its mission through:

  • Providing consultative service to pastors and other parish leaders regarding liturgical issues

  • Sponsoring various periodic workshops on liturgical formation for clergy and laity

  • Advising the bishop regarding liturgical matters, in collaboration with the diocesan Liturgy, Art and Music Board

  • Collaborating with other diocesan departments, especially within the Secretariat of Christian Formation and with the Office of Evangelization & Catechesis, regarding resourcing and training, with special emphasis on the Holy Eucharist and on Christian Initiation

  • Assisting the bishop and presbyterate with the planning and execution of special ceremonies, such as ordinations and church dedications
