The mission of the Archives Department is to collect, organize, preserve and make available for research the historical and vital records of the Diocese of Baton Rouge, as well as materials which reflect the work of the Church within the Diocese. The purpose of the Department is to promote an understanding of the Catholic Church, its history and its heritage in the community.
Roots of Faith explores the history and architecture of area churches in the Diocese of Baton Rouge.

Roots of Faith: Holy People Holy Places explores the lives of holy persons who visited or lived in Louisiana. The individuals we showcase led extraordinary lives of caring, generosity and service- bringing others closer to God through their exemplary lives. There are also holy places in our state worthy of attention - from seminaries to cemeteries and many places in-between. Join us as we journey through our state’s “Holy” past of people and places.
