On Thursday, February 24, Ms. Claire Breaux, the new Director of the Tribunal, will offer a training session for Catholics interested in serving as case sponsors. Case sponsors assist persons in filing petitions for findings of invalidity of marriage. This session is designed for those without any prior experience in this role, and will serve as an introduction to the basic ministry of the Tribunal and how the role of case sponsor helps. Others who already have some familiarity with this work but would like to learn more or be refreshed in their knowledge are also welcome.
This ministry may be undertaken by both clerics (priests and deacons) and lay persons. Please note, however, that it is important that married case sponsors themselves not be in irregular marriages (e.g., “outside the Church”). Space is limited, so included is a link below to a mandatory sign-up page.
