The Fête-Dieu du Mississippi, “Blessing Louisiana and the Mighty River,” will be held Wednesday, Aug. 14 – Thursday, Aug. 15. The event will begin with an 8 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph Cathedral in Baton Rouge, 412 North St., Baton Rouge, followed by a processional to the river. Stops in the Diocese of Baton Rouge include a blessing at St. John the Evangelist Church Plaquemine, Ascension of Our Lord Church in Donaldsonville and St. Michael the Archangel Church in Convent, where there will be solemn vespers and all-night adoration.
