Bishop Michael Duca will celebrate our annual Respect Life Mass at St. Joseph Cathedral. Everyone is invited to join us, following Mass, for fellowship, coffee and hot chocolate before we join thousands of others for the Louisiana Life March beginning at 10:00 am on the State Capitol Lawn. For more information, email [email protected].
In an effort to embrace and welcome the members of our Church with special needs and their families, the Diocese of Baton Rouge has begun hosting Sensory-Friendly Masses.
These Masses include lower lighting, softer music, and shorter, more literal homilies; most importantly, they provide fellowship with other parishioners on a similar journey. We encourage families and individuals to get up and move if needed, to bring alternative seating, fidgets or noise cancelling headphones, and to participate in the liturgy just as they are.
Registration is now open for the "All Are Welcome" Set Apart Family Retreat. This retreat is planned for all members of the exceptional needs family - dad, mom, siblings, and those with exceptional needs. The day will include sessions for the entire family, sessions for each family member, activities, lunch, Adoration, and confession. Volunteers will be on hand and ready to serve to ensure a safe and spiritual day. Registration required. Space is limited.
