Life, Peace, and Justice Coordinator

General Statement of Duties
The Life, Peace, and Justice Coordinator works collaboratively with the Director of the Office of Life, Peace, and Justice, church parishes, apostolates, and other partners across the diocese providing vision, leadership, education, pastoral support, and advocacy with the goal of developing and implementing services, programs, and trainings that support the marginalized in our diocese in accord with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities, Catholic Social Teaching, and the Encyclical Evangelium Vitae.

Additionally, the Life Peace and Justice Coordinator coordinates and oversees diocesan meetings, events and ministries; serves as a local, regional and national respect life liaison; and assists with the coordination and planning for other sacramental services and ministries under the Office of Life Peace and Justice.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum two years professional level experience. in parish, diocesan, or Church-related non-profit ministry – related to advocacy for the marginalized, or related field or Bachelor’s Degree in Theology.
• Must have demonstrated extensive knowledge of Catholic teaching on life issues. 
• Demonstrated ability to use current software being used by the diocese, i.e., Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), email and other mass communication tools, Learning Management Systems, Database Management, Live Video conferencing and webinars and use of Social Media and Website as tools for advocating and recruiting volunteers. 
• Due to the nature of this position, it is required that the incumbent be a practicing Roman Catholic who is registered and active in a parish and possesses a working knowledge of Catholic teaching and doctrine.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential; excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; experience in event planning, including large scale; technological, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills required.
• Ability to exercise good judgement in handling difficult and/or sensitive situations, with the ability to maintain strict level of confidentiality and discretion as required by diocesan policy and legal requirements.
• Ability to work with and support people with diverse backgrounds and experiences. 
• Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with representatives of associated organizations.
• Possess a spirit of hospitality and a willing commitment to spiritual, personal, and professional development.
• Requires ability to work evenings and weekends.
