The Diocesan Commission on Liturgy, Art and Music (LAMB) assists pastors and parish liturgical committees in providing appropriate liturgical services and environment for worship.
No liturgical space, especially a church, oratory, chapel, or shrine, is to be constructed or substantially renovated without the explicit written consent of the diocesan bishop. In addition to observing all diocesan building regulations, when seeking to build or significantly renovate any li-turgical space, a pastor is obliged to submit the plans for such construction or renovation to the diocesan Liturgy, Art, and Music Board, which in turn makes recommendations to the bishop concerning the matter. Note that these plans must be submitted on two occasions: prior to the finalization of the schematic designs and again upon finalization of the construction documents.
The pastor is strongly urged to consult with the diocesan Liturgy, Art, and Music Board in developing even preliminary concepts and designs for new liturgical construction and renovation of existing worship space. In fact, ongoing consultation of the Board by the pastor, architect, artists, and parochial building committee is welcome.
Current LAMB members include:
Fr. Tom Ranzino, Fr. Paul Counce, Brenda Atkinson, Beth Bordelon, Fred Grace, Bret Jackson, Tommy Miremont, Deacon Minos Ponville, Jacques Pourciau, and Ken Thevenet.
