In his Dec. 4 column, Father Carville pointed out proudly that the majority of the justices in the Supreme Court are now Catholic. Let us not forget why this is. Had Hillary Clinton been elected president in 2016 this would not be the case. It was mainly because of the pending Supreme Court nomination that I did not vote for her. A president is only in office for four or eight years, but Supreme Court justices last a lot longer.
Donald Trump has not been our best president but he delivered on the nomination of the Supreme Court justices. The fact that he was able to nominate three justices is providential. I wonder if our practicing-Catholic president will nominate a Catholic justice given the chance
