Bishop Duca Announces Additional Clergy Appointments

In consultation with the Clergy Personnel Board, Bishop Michael Duca makes the following appointments effective 01 July 22:
Leave of Absence
Father Ryan Hallford, currently Pastor of Holy Family in Port Allen, has requested a leave of absence from active ministry, and Bishop Duca has granted this request effective 01 July 2022.Pastor Appointments
Father Joseph G. Benjamin, SSJ, currently pastor of St. Peter the Apostle in Pascagoula, Mississippi, is appointed Pastor of St. Augustine in New Roads. This assignment is effective 01 October 2022. The Diocese thanks Father Patrick Healy, SSJ, for his work and time spent in Baton Rouge.
Administrator Appointments
Father James Singarayar, HGN, a priest of the Heralds of the Good News and currently Pastor of St. Joseph Church in Lillian, Alabama in the Archdiocese of Mobile, is appointed Administrator of Holy Family in Port Allen.
Parochial Vicar Appointments
Father Lamar Partin, CSsR, a priest of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (Redemptorists), is appointed as Parochial Vicar of St. John the Evangelist in Prairieville.
Father Amalraj Savarimuthu, IMS, currently Parochial Vicar of St. Anne in Napoleonville, Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Plattenville, and St. Philomena in Labadieville, is appointed as Parochial Vicar of Holy Ghost in Hammond.
Parish Life Coordinator
Deacon Michael Parker has been appointed Parish Life Coordinator of Holy Rosary Church in St. Amant from June 1, 2022, through June 30, 2022. Father Matthew Lorrain will serve as the canonical priest-supervisor of the parish until he assumes the pastorate of Holy Rosary on 01 July 2022.
