In consultation with the Clergy Personnel Board, Bishop Michael G. Duca announced the following appointments effective July 1:
Father Amal Raj Savarimuthu IMS, currently parochial vicar of Immaculate Conception in Denham Springs, is appointed parochial vicar of St. Anne Church in Napoleonville, St. Philomena Church in Labadieville and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Plattenville.
Deacon Kirk Duplantis, currently deacon assistant at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church in St. Gabriel, is appointed deacon assistant at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Baton Rouge.
Father Christopher Decker is appointed chaplain to Catholic Interparochial of Pointe Coupee School in New Roads. This appointment is in addition to his other assignments as pastor of St. Mary of False River Church in New Roads and as Secretary for Communications.
Father Matthew Dupré is appointed chaplain to Ascension Catholic Diocesan Regional School in Donaldsonville. This appointment is in addition to his other assignments as pastor of Ascension of Our Lord Church and St. Francis of Assisi Church in Donaldsonville and dean of the South Deanery.
Father Paul Gros is appointed chaplain to St. Thomas Aquinas Diocesan Regional High School in Hammond. This appointment is in addition to his other assignments as parochial vicar of St. Margaret, Queen of Scotland Church in Albany and as co-director of the Office of Formation for the Permanent Diaconate.
Father Taylor Sanford is appointed chaplain to St. Michael the Archangel Diocesan Regional High School in Baton Rouge. This appointment is in addition to his other assignment as parochial vicar of Immaculate Conception.
