On Feb. 3 church parishes in the Diocese of Baton Rouge marked the feast day of St. Blaise of Sebaste, bishop and martyr of the fourth century who worked hard to encourage the spiritual and physical health of his people. St. Blaise is the patron saint of people with throat ailments. Pictured is Deacon Richard Grant, deacon assistant at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Baton Rouge, doing the blessings of the throats following Mass.
