In Memoriam: Deacon Willie Berthelot, Sr.

It is with sadness that the Diocese of Baton Rouge announces that Deacon Willie Berthelot, Sr., a retired deacon of the Diocese of Baton Rouge, passed away on Holy Thursday (17 April 2025). He was ordained a deacon in July 2002 and retired from active ministry in October 2015.  He was 93.  Before his retirement, he served as deacon assistant at St. Isidore the Farmer in Baker.  Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him!
 
Please pray for Deacon Berthelot, his wife Helen, and all who mourn his loss.  

Visitation will be at Baker Funeral Home (6401 Groom Road, Baker) on Tuesday, 22 April 2025 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM.  Visitation will continue at St. Isidore Catholic Church (5567 Thomas Road, Baton Rouge) on Wednesday, 23 April from 9:00AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM, officiated by Father Frank Bass.  A graveside service with military honors will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Baker.
