Several families from Acadiana, including historian and Nova Scotia native David Corkern, spent a morning in April 2014 at the Catholic Life Center pouring over records that were more than 300 years old. The morning was emotional for some, including Marty Guidry, who was able to trace his Acadian ancestors from the time they were exiled from Nova Scotia to the time they landed in south Louisiana. The records are some of the most valuable housed in the archives building.
