I had been employed for 17 years at the Pepsi Bottling plant as the Quality Control Manager. When the plant ceased operations, I was offered a transfer to work in the Tulsa Oklahoma's manufacturing plant as a supervisor. I turned down the transfer, because I could not imagine moving away from my roots in Southeast Louisiana. For years I was a faithful lay volunteer in my home church parish of Our Lady of Peace, in Vacherie, LA. It was in these ministries where I found my true joy. In the subsequent months after the job ended, I started attending daily mass and praying that God would lead me where I was supposed to follow him. Eventually he led me to meetings with my pastor that led me to the vocation's office and in August 2014 I officially started seminary formation. It has been the best years of my life, deciding to follow God and not looking back.
