Don Allison is a native of Pineville, LA and a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He and his wife of 37 years, Beth, live in Baton Rouge, and are parishioners at St. Aloysius Church. They have three daughters, two sons-in-law, and three grandsons. Don was not Catholic while growing up, and he went through the RCIA process in 1983-84. After a 40+ year career as a CPA, business consultant, and governmental affairs professional, Don retired in August 2019. In 2017, while attending the ordination of Father Pat Broussard, Don felt a calling to explore the diaconate and the process of becoming a deacon. After doing so, Don decided to take the next step and entered the diaconate formation program in the summer of 2018. Don is enjoying the formation program because he has learned, and continues to learn, an incredible amount, more than he ever dreamed possible. The formation program has also instilled in Don a love for performing community service. He knows that there is much more to learn, and he looks forward to his continued development.
