I grew up in Lake Charles, Louisiana. But now, I am a through and through Baton Rougean, having moved here and met the love of my life over forty years ago. Those who know how much I love LSU football and pretty much everything else LSU, might think I am talking about that. But, I am talking about Tammy, to whom and I have been married for 40 years. We have 3 daughters and 5 grandchildren. We are lucky enough that they are all in the Baton Rouge area. My home parish is Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. I have been a lector, extraordinary Eucharistic Minister, and have served various roles in Sacred Heart’s St. Vincent de Paul Society Conference (focused on ministering to the poor). After a stint as a full-time professor at the LSU Law School (where I still teach part time), I went back into practice, primarily personal injury litigation for the plaintiffs. For many years, the notion of becoming a Deacon has lingered in the back of my mind. Though there are many other ways to do so, I felt it would be a good way to continue my mission of service to others. I also viewed it as a means by which to pursue what I consider to be the primary mission of each of us, to work for the salvation of the souls of others. So, 5 years ago, I decided that I should discern formation further. I am in the last of my 5 years of study and I very glad that I did. I have learned so much about my faith and how it defines me and my role. I hope that I can spread some of that to those I will be assigned to serve in the future.
