Notre Dame Seminary Configuration Stage: Year 3 Christ the King, Baton Rouge
I grew up in the Catholic Church but did not have an authentic encounter with the Lord until my sophomore year at LSU. After my conversion, I dove head first and grew in love with Jesus through the community and ministries at Christ the King at LSU. The summer before my last year at LSU, I was on a mountain top of sorts with my prayer life and relationship with the Lord. He just drew me deeper and deeper into the depths of His heart. I suddenly began to have thoughts and daydreams about being a priest and celebrating Mass. I had experience other moments of interests in the priesthood before, but they were fleeting and not as convicting. I was afraid but also excited at the possibility. Above all, there was a peace in the idea of the Lord inviting me to the seminary to discern this call. Through prayer, I came to realize that if the Lord had knitted me in my mother’s womb to be His priest, then it is the only place that I could be so as to most perfectly encounter His love for me and where I could most perfectly love Him and His people.
