John is a native of Providence, Rhode Island. He now lives in Central with his wife Lori (a native of Baton Rouge who is a nurse at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center). Lori and John were introduced while volunteering at a mission in Honduras. He earned both a bachelor's and master's degrees in Theology from Providence College as well as a state teaching certification in Spanish. He has taught Religion and Spanish at Saint Michael High School, where he was known as “Mr. Lad”.
John and Lori attend Mass at the Hispanic Apostolate's home base on the St. Pius X campus. They are as active as possible there given their busy schedules (including evening classes for him at FranU!). Teaching is the most challenging job John has ever had, and he loved every minute of it!
He learned to trust in God because, when he has nothing left, that is when God fills John. John says, "It is in giving that we receive, and so He must increase, and I must decrease." Praying the Gospel daily and helping others understand God’s love for them is how John heard the call to the a deeper involvement in the Church, his teaching career, his ministry at the Hispanic Apostolate, his work at the Tribunal, and he hopes soon, the permanent diaconate.
John enthusiastically says, "I can’t wait to see what God has planned for me!"
