Deacon Candidate
Class of 2022
St. Mary of False River, New Roads
I was raised in Morganza, La and married a girl that lived across the school yard from me. Stephanie, a cradle Catholic and I, a convert to the faith ended up settling in Ventress just a few miles away. We have been married for 39 years and are parishioners at St. Mary of False River in New Roads. Our daughters, Alyssa and Meredith are grown and married and make us very proud. We await the birth of our first Grandchild. My work at Louisiana Economic Development has me involved in supporting small business and communities all in an effort to grow the State’s economy; I work for and with a great group of people. As I move through a rigorous formation program I am reminded that cultivating a “love for the other” is at the core of who we are as Catholics and describes the decision that I and several brother candidates have made. I was inspired to consider entering Diaconate Formation by the first Deacon I recall meeting; he was a really good man. I am thankful to every person that has invested in me during this process.
