My name is Terry Bellon, and I am a Diaconate Candidate for the Class of 2023, which makes me officially half-way through! I grew up in the small Cajun town of Basile, LA, which is located in Evangeline Parish. I am married to Judy Bellon, and we have two sons, who are in their 20's. We are parishioners at St. Thomas More, where I serve as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. In the past, I have served on both the Pastoral Council at STM, and the School Board at St. Thomas More School. I am a registered nurse, and I have been working for Fresenius Kidney Care for the past 25 years, where I am currently a Director of Operations, overseeing the operations of 10 kidney dialysis clinics.
I made the decision to enter the Diaconate program simply because I wanted to serve the Lord and our Church. I have been blessed throughout my life and I strive to live Luke's teaching, "To whom much is given, much will be required." Going through this Diaconate program has been one of the most challenging things I've ever done, but also one of the most rewarding. There is SO much to learn about our faith, and I hope to share the knowledge I'm gaining with the parishioners of the Diocese of Baton Rouge one day.
