United by BBQ - Diocesan Disaster Relief Planning

The Office of Life, Peace, and Justice in partnership with United by BBQ and Thomas' Table would like to invite representatives from each parish in our diocese for a discussion on how we can partner together to be prepared to respond with food and support in the event of a natural disaster.  We are hoping to partner with United by BBQ which is a non-profit organization that has served meals to over 605,000 people during over 60 natural disasters.  They are set up set up to prepare and dispatch between 2,000 - 3,000 meals a day.  The partnership has two goals - to help us to prepare to support people in our diocese during a disaster and to support United by BBQ with their mission by assisting them with preparation and distribution of meals during a disaster.  The meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 26^th in the parish hall at St. Margarette Queen of Scotland Church in Albany.  Dinner will be provided.  For more information, contact Deaon Randall Waguespack at rwaguespack@diobr.org or (225)387-0561.
